First off my condolences to Mary's family, friends and co-workers. It's not easy to face the loss of someone and when it end's as Mary's life did it's even harder to understand.

I’ve read your stories and listened to news reports and it just baffles me that Mary, before this occurred was nothing more than a number. A number that reflects the women and men of our society who are granted protection orders for their safety. Only their closest friends know them by name. To local authorities, court documents and the general public they are just a number. It’s only when things escalate to “Fatality Status” that the number is given a name, an identity, and personality that so many people can relate to. Hopefully all the Mary’s in the country will not face the tragic end that she did.
